H.O.G.® Primary Officer Training - at the home of Harley-Davidson - Milwaukee, USA:
7th to 11th April 2010.
Ca 1200 personer fra hele verden var invitert til å ta del i årets Primary Officers Training (POT) i tidsrommet 7. til 11. april. Interessen for å delta viste seg å være formidabel da det ble annonsert at POT i år skulle avholdes i MidWest Airline Centre, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, i motsetning til Fulda, Tyskland. Flere hundre måtte avvises.
Imidlertid var vi en fyldig delegasjon fra Norge som tok oss over Atlanteren; i underkant av 25 personer. Fra Arctic Chapter var vi 5 deltakere; Merete og Thor Harry, Gunn Hilde og Hallgeir pluss Jeppe. Vel framme i Milwaukee ble vi møtt av hustrig vær; nordøstlige vinder som bar med seg snø- og haglbyger, men mye vennlighet og varme. De fleste av oss hadde stilt seg slik at det ble plenty med tid til shopping før det offisielle programmet tok til.

POT invites riders from around the world to join in the celebration of Harley-Davidson® experience, while also gaining insights, ideas and information on how to get the most out of H.O.G. riding experience. Most of all, P.O.T. gives you the opportunity to network with fellow enthusiasts, to share ideas and discuss how to lead the way for others. P.O.T. provides information on H.O.G.-related strategies and specific training on Harley-related issues as well as how to create more adventure on your Harley-Davidson and build excitement for the great rides ahead.
For decades, Harley-Davidson riders have been sharing their passion for great motorcycles and riding adventure. Now it’s your turn.
Take advantage of the opportunity to share ideas and lead the way for others to enjoy the riding experience.
Not to mention it’s all in a fun, party-filled atmosphere with the most fun group of riders you’ll find anywhere. It’s your opportunity to connect with people as passionate – or more! – as you are about riding. You’ll interact with H.O.G. experts, a special guest or two, and fellow riders from throughout the world. We invite every one of you to be there.
Delegates will arrive Wed 7 April 2010. That evening you can start having fun and meeting new (and old) riding friends. The formal POT program starts on Thursday 8 April; training continues through Saturday and the fun and networking continues until departure on Sunday, 11th April.
What will be included?
· Two full days of training with Subject Matter Experts from around the world.
· Meet your fellow H.O.G. and Chapter members from the USA and around The world.
· Chapter-focused courses.
· NEW seminars for all types of riders.
· Training materials.
· Four nights’ accomodation in the Downtown Hilton in the heart of Milwaukee, a short walk from the training centre.
· Four breakfasts.
· Three dinners.
· Harley-Davidson Museum and Pilgrim Road Powertrain Operations Plant visits.
· Presentation pack, pin and patch.
· Special gift.
· Invaluable network opportunities.
Kort fortalt så ble dette et minne- og lærerikt opphold som svarte til forventningene for oss alle. Masse nye bekjentskaper og kontakter ”from all over the world”, mye ny kunnskap og ideer, perfekte parties og shopping. Det er i slike sammenhenger at det vises ekstra tydelig hvilket fantastisk godt og verdensomspennende fellesskap vi er HOG’ere er så heldig å være en del av. Dette var svært motiverende og anbefales på det varmeste.
Avslutningsvis må det også opplyses at det som altså tidligere het Primary Officers Training (POT) har skiftet navn til H.O.G Officers Training (HOT). Logo’en er også forandret.
